Breakfast Date

Giggles and Mommy went on our first mother/son date this morning to Chick-fil-a. It was the first time just the two of us have gone out together just because...not to meet someone, not to run errands...it was really fun. A much needed morning off! I hope this becomes a tradition!!!

Giggles and toys

Today was the first time Giggles cried when a toy was taken away and replaced with another one. Up to this point, any toy would do. Kinda neat to see him learn object permanence...just wish it was the quiet toy he wanted so badly ;-)

Three Month Pictures

Giggles was three months old on Tuesday (wow, that went fast!) so we took pictures to mark the day!

Giggles' pets!

Giggles is just starting to be aware of the pets and follow their movement around the house. After the first few weeks of having Giggles around both pets pretty much just ignore him.

Daddy is trying to teach Giggles that Daisy will be his best friend so there are lots of puppy hugs!!

This past Saturday we took both pets to the vet about 2 hours away from home (with the car seat hating child). Neither pets nor child enjoyed the trip!! At the vet Daisy hyperventilated while getting her nails trimmed and Daddy had to pin her to the floor, Dash hid under Chester (his pet cat) in the carrier and cried...and in the middle of all that Giggles had an explosive diaper! Mommy had to leave with Giggles and Daddy was left to deal with both pets. I don't know what would have been more funny to see....the girl walking out holding a baby in front of her or the guy with a dog on a leash in one hand and a cat carrier wiggling around in the other!!!

Two month check up

We had a really good trip to the doctor with Giggles today! Mark and I both were much more happy with the new doctor, staff, and office in general. They answered a bunch of our questions in the very first packet of info on two month old babies (imagine that...information up front).
Giggles is growing just like he should be. He was totally flirting with the nurse...smiling and cooing the whole time.
He weighs 12 lbs 10 oz (50-75%) and is 23.75 in (75%)...so he really has grown a LOT!!!
We asked about his food consumption and it is normal so he is just a fast growing little guy!!
The hard part of the day was getting 3 shots. He laughed through the first one, whimpered on the second, and full on screamed for the third :-( Apparently that is when he realized it hurt...but as soon as I picked him up again he was fine.
He is now sleeping and has a little fever but we hope it doesn't get too bad.
A couple other cool things...the nurse gave us about $20 worth of free formula!! And some church friends brought us a really yummy dinner just to help out today!!! Wonderful unexpected blessings :-)

Personality Pictures

Giggles is really starting to get a cute personality. He loves to sit and laugh at anything...including the walls (we are still trying to figure that one out!).

 His two month check up is Thursday and I am looking forward to hearing how the doctor thinks he is progressing. There will be a post about that visit later this week.
